In an attempt to answer my most frequently asked questions…here you go!
What is your career/work background?
I attended the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and earned my degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship. After graduation, I worked in the fields of Marketing, Management and Human Resources, and loved almost every minute of it!
Then when we started our family, I left my full-time career and continued to teach fitness classes as my “momma” role took over! (I am an AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.) Over my 20 years in the fitness industry, I have had the privilege of working in six different health clubs.
What camera do you use?
Nikon 1 J1 10.1 MP HD Digital Camera System with 10-30mm VR and 30-110mm VR 1 NIKKOR Lenses (White)
What do you eat on a given day or week?
This post breaks down a sample for you!
What is it like living in Portugal?
I’m going to do a series specifically on this topic in 2015. However, if you are curious about what I’ve already shared, search “Tyree Tales” – these posts talk a lot about some of the early days. (We have currently been in Portugal for two years.) I will say there are parts about living abroad that I LOVE and parts about it that are really hard for me. I’m not the ideal candidate to be an Expat, just being honest…I really miss my comforts.
What is your number one health tip?
Drink water – and lots of it! Water should be your #1 go-to drink of choice.
Who do you admire most?
The person who is confident in who they are and then strives to help others to feel more confident.
How do you “stay” organized?
Daily effort. It’s all about being consistent. The more you do things consistently, the less overwhelming they become. For example, always bring in the things from the car when you get home and follow a one in, one out rule. Less IS more.
What is your advice on working out?
You have to find a way to exercise that doesn’t feel like work to you. It should be fun, at least somewhat. Don’t force yourself to go to Zumba if you hate to dance and likewise don’t run if you hate running. You have to find the right fit for you! Then you will be more likely to do it regularly, and even look forward to it! There are SO many options out there, keep trying things until you find forms that motivate you. You can do it!
Do you surf?
Nope. But I used to snowboard back in the day… 🙂
