Kids’ Bath – Organized

We have a very ugly room in our home (hopefully it is the only one) and that happens to be our Kids’ Bathroom.  We have not touched it with regard to serious home improvement – ever.  The few very small changes that we have made over the past eight years have only included: replacing the toilet, adding plantation shutters, putting up new towel bars/hooks and painting a fresh coat of paint.  Really a bare minimum for what the room could use.

The eighties are calling and they want their bathroom back!

The problem is, our kids are hard on the bathroom so we like the fact that we don’t have to worry about things getting scratched or damaged.  And, now with an upcoming move, we are not any more motivated to do a major update.

Regardless of the lack of style and decorating, I have some great tips to help keep Kids Bathrooms organized.

This towel bar is for guest towels.  I keep them here clean, folded, and ready!  It creates a soft focus and a little bit of decor too.  This bathroom doubles as a guest bath, when we have guests stay with us.

New towel ring with gender neutral towels.  Since we have two girls and a boy, I couldn’t do anything too gender specific.  I love the cute green small mirror we found at Homegoods.

The best thing I have done by far, is give each kiddo their own hook and their own towel color.  This makes for easy clean up and also no one uses someone else towel “by mistake”.  I also hung an extra hook on the back of the door for guest towels and/or bathrobes.  You can see from this picture the lovely floor and cabinets we have in the space…

I am a big fan of hooks for towels used regularly, it is just easier on everybody and you don’t have to take the time to fold and hang.

In each of their drawers I put two trays, I purchased each set of two for only $1! These work great to separate and organize their bath things. Each kiddo gets one drawer that is just their own!

Then, just to be prepared, I always have lots of TP on hand. Check out my philosophy on TP, yes I have a philosophy!

I have enough room in the bath to hang fun pictures too! This was the perfect spot for their yearly school photos.
Wondering where I shop? For this room, most everything is from Target, Homegoods, and Home Depot.
Simple Tips: Kids Bathroom
  • Give each child their own drawer.
  • Assign a towel color for each kiddo.
  • Use hooks over rings or bars when possible.
  • Have a basket for toilet paper.
*KISS – Design your Kids Bathroom so that it can be maintained and organized by the kids themselves.
