Today we’re going to talk all about car trunk organization! Specifically how to contain all of the essentials (like first aid supplies and jumper cables). Essentials that will help to make your road trips and carpool shifts a bit more enjoyable.
I can’t promise you that there won’t be fighting between siblings in your back seat, but I can promise that you’ll be prepared for those scraped knees, upset tummies or even that dreaded car battery not working!
I’ve been super guilty of not having an emergency kit in my car. Sure, we had band aids and some Ziploc bags, but that was it! So, when Jamie contacted me from Thirty-One and wanted to offer a giveaway, I knew it was the perfect time to take my car trunk organization from OK to awesome!
Jamie offered me this beautiful bag and she is offering one of these to one of you too! (Giveaway is at the bottom of this post!) This bag could be used for so many purposes. I see hauling toys and snacks to the park, loading up sports equipment or even packing in all of those groceries after shopping at Costco.
And confession time. I’m a sucker for bags. I have been known to buy something just because it comes in a fantastic bag. To me a bag says “organized” and “stylish” all in one.
Now, when it came to my trunk, it was unorganized with things like reusable grocery bags, umbrellas and a few important things like this…
Yes, I bought these booster cables, because they came in a bag. #truth
So, in an attempt to better organize my car I began by assembling a true first aid kit…I mean band aids aren’t going to help someone who gets car sick now are they?!?
I grabbed a few more items that I knew would be helpful to have with me at all times and then I picked up one of these cuties…
And began organizing like it was my j.o.b.
To finalize things, I grabbed the new and improved first aid kit, the booster cables and the emergency cones (something we need to have in our car in Portugal at all times) and placed them neat and tidy into their new home.
I adore how this bag fits so nicely into my trunk space and leaves plenty of room for other things that we need to haul around. Most of which is usually groceries.
It feels so much better to be more prepared for the “what ifs” in life and to also have my car trunk more organized.
For now this is where she will sit, yes my bag is a “she”. But I can’t promise I won’t change my mind down the road and grab her for another purpose. (I mean after all she is pretty cute and super versatile!)
