Summer OC – Day #2

I hope you had a great first day of organizing.

Now…let’s get back to work!

Organize DVD/CD

source

Choose only one option, set your timer, turn off all distractions, and get to organizing!

Option 1: Organize your DVDs/CDs

I have all of our CD’s in a book like the one pictured above. When I asked my hubby if I could do the same to all of our DVD’s, he about fainted. Apparently he likes the covers A LOT! So scratch that idea, but I do have them organized by categories. We keep our movies downstairs in the Kids’ Veg Space. (We’re keeping the covers…for now.)

Decide which area you want to attack and then…

  1. Take everything out and PURGE!
  2. Giveaway/donate the non-keepers (the library often likes donations).
  3. Re-organize them all neat and tidy.

Option 2: 10-15 Minute Sweep

With your timer set, grab a laundry basket (or whatever you have to work with), and do a quick pick up throughout your home. ONLY pick up the number of items that you’ll actually be able to put back to where they belong – this is the key to success.

*This is a great organizing task to make a habit to do daily!

Option 3: Phone Call

Take your time today to make that one phone call that you’ve been meaning to make. Maybe it’s to schedule an appointment, make a lunch date with a friend or to catch up with a family member. Be intentional to carve out the 10-15 minutes to make the call and then check it off on your list!

Important Reminders:

  1. Be realistic and do not take on more than what you will be able to finish within 10-15 minutes per day.
  2. The goal is to do one project to 100% completion each day.
  3. Feel free to mix and match from day-to-day based on what your specific needs are and what you have the motivation to work on!
