Master Bathroom – Rest & Retreat

Welcome to another room in our humble abode.  Our remodeled Master Bathroom.  We completely gutted this room back in 2006…and I LOVE everything about this space.  We didn’t change anything with the layout, we just pushed the eighties out and brought it into the year 2000.

It now has convenience, style, comfort, and a spa like feel.

Always have a clock in your bathroom to keep you on time!

The center tower cupboard holds our towels, my jewelry, and products we use daily.
I keep all of my other extras on hand in the Linen Closet.
Look at this fantastic idea (thanks Mom) – four plug ins, and a hideaway spot!
We have eight drawers total, which means A LOT of storage.
I love that four belong to me and four belong to my hubby, no sharing allowed!
Here is a peak inside.  I am a huge fan of these tray/dividers…they can be organized into many different set ups, I also use them in my kitchen.  A place for everything, and everything in its place.

Notice the textured walls….so the story goes something like this…what do you do when you buy a house that has a bathroom that has wallpapered walls that have been painted on too?  And when you go to remove the wallpaper you actually tear down the sheet rock?  You thank your Dad for knowing how to hand texture and you tell him you want to go for the textured look, to save the time and hassle of redoing all of the sheet rock.  You also like the look, so it becomes a win-win!

My close up mirror…any tips for cleaning off coats of hairspray???  Do tell…. This was a gift from my sister Haley, I love that it was a gift from her and it reminds me of her whenever I use it.
Jewelry displayed beautifully…thanks to my other sister’s creativity.  Harmony a.k.a. Designer extraordinaire!  Check out her site – designharmony
Be sure to look up at the light in the shower/bath area…stunning right?  Our closet is to the left, through the pocket door.
Normally I would have hung this sign up, but I just found it and we are preparing to move, so I just propped it up for now…
One of my favorite places…our walk in shower….this is another thanks to my Dad, who did all of the work, along with my hubby’s help.

Our Bath is connected to our bedroom and the colors are coordinated between the two rooms.
Simple Tips: Master Bathroom
  • Have separate drawers and cupboards if possible.
  • Place dividers in drawers for easy coordination of like items.
  • Place a garbage can under each sink for each person to use.
  • Use hooks over rings or bars when possible.
  • Display your jewelry as artwork.
  • Have a basket for toilet paper.
*KISS – Bring some spa like elements into your Master Bathroom to soften the space and make it more inviting.
