How to Organize Ties

I was recently requested by my hubby to fix his tie organizational system, or lack there of…

Honestly, I wasn’t all that excited about this project, but because I love him, and I love organizing…
I accepted the challenge.

The challenge was to move him away from two “hanger tie racks” that were.not.working.at.all.

I started with Pinterest, she helped me to get my wheels spinning.  I opted to use an underutilized drawer with some extra tray dividers that were lying around.  And, ta da…

 Based on tie widths, I put them in the directions that would allow me to get the most ties in one row.

Initially, I was unsure if this system would stay like this, but so far the ties are being kept rolled up.  Yay!

One of my most important rules of organizing, is that before going to shop for anything to organize with, look around your home/surroundings first!  If you go buy a bunch of baskets, totes, bins, you name it, but they don’t end up working, or you buy too many, or…then you have added to your “stuff” problem.

*KISS – Use what you already own to organize first.

Less is More – except when it comes to ties.
