Kitchen Organization – Under the Sink

A new series my friends!
Kitchen Organization by a professional organizer - Morganize with Me

I don’t know about you, but I think I spend more time in my kitchen than in any other room in my home.  Not that I mind.  Well some days I do, but most days, I really do enjoy the task of serving my precious family. This series will be all about the tips and tricks of simple kitchen organizing.

Let’s face it, the goal is that we stay open, and ready for business, right?   So, rather than showing you the entire kitchen in one post, I’m going to break it down into sections, sort of like bite sized chunks.  If you find an area in your own kitchen that needs a little TLC, make a goal, start with one drawer, or one cupboard.  Snowball approach my friends.

Here is numero uno – under the Kitchen Sink!under the kitchen sink organizing

The left side holds one caddy, this spot is for all of the “kitchen” related cleaning products.  Dishwasher soap, dish soap, counter spray, hand soap refill, Magic eraser sponge, wipes, a small dustpan w/ brush, and a stainless steel wipe.  I use the back part of the cupboard for extra items like garbage can liners, extra soap etc.

The right side holds another caddy known as my “Traveling Cleaning Kit”.  This is the caddy that I carry around with me as I clean, which I am doing all of the time, wink, wink.   It generally holds the following items: All Purpose Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Wood Polish, Abrasive Cleaner (Kitchen/Bath) and Floor Cleaner.  Along with sponges, and/or cleaning towels.

Again, I use the back area for the “extras”.

One of the best purchases I have made (or my hubby made), is this stack of white rags.  He bought a pack of them at Home Depot.  I love them.  I did not know that a stack of white rags could make me so happy, but they do, they really do.  It used to always seem like I couldn’t find a rag when I needed one, and now I have more than enough.  Since they are all white, I just bleach them when I wash them, that way they stay sparkling white and ready for cleaning!

Now it’s your turn…

How is your Under the Sink space functioning?
Are you maximizing the space?
Have you defined what the cupboard’s purpose is?
Do you need to re-organize?
Is it clean and pretty?

It is once again ALL about my K.I.S.S. motto – Keep It Simple Sister.

*KISS – Define each cupboard in your kitchen for a specific purpose.
